Quite a good sale price here, more than what expected it to be, but then I done a local search exacts which seems to be sound 200,000 a month WOW!

I'm guessing anyone searching "funny pictures" are not going to be monetizable in any way at all though. I had a "funny videos" site many years ago and the traffic was high - even trying to get them to click an Adwords ad was a nightmare.

I think the seller got a good price here.

Mally: The local exact are around 50,000 aren't they? Where are you seeing this data?

Frog: Depends what kind of numbers the site eventually brings in. Anything above 10,000views a day and the price will start to look like a reasonable investment. If not, it can always be thrown back to auction. A decent number of interested parties it seems.

People looking for funny pictures are also going to be interested in all the funny cursors, msn pictures, avatars etc that you often see advertised!

Also the great thing about picture sites is you can make a copy and paste link that has a built in one way link back to your site which most people are going to use when posting it on forums etc.

This is just complete speculation. And from having a funny videos site, I can tell you its completely untrue. Your second point about picking up links is valid though.

I think there's something to it, in the sense that advertisers of "funny cursors, msn pictures, avatars etc" deliberately target this kind of entertainment site, and as such they must feel that it's the right target audience for them. Whether they are right or not who knows. I'm surprised that anybody purchases such items, but clearly somebody does :).

I agree with you both on the other point. Everything is very viral nowadays and so allowing people to add stuff to their facebook or twitter page at the touch of a bottom is a must with this kind of content.
