In before RSS

Just noticed this, seems like a really good price for the seller!? Nice to see a domain go for a decent amount. This is making me think about putting up one of my premium domains up on DL rather than waiting for the Great Domain auction on Sedo next month

Not sure if it matters too much how good the name is mate, it's if you get two bidders who want it. If you don't it doesn't matter if on person would pay 60k for it, you might only get £500

similar good one dropping tomorrow, and domcollect have one marked as no longer required?

Domcollect seem to always have everything listed as no longer required, so I wouldn't take it to mean much.

Very nice price for the seller but in saying that 27,100 local exacts and £3 CPC. Not bad for development really. :D

how often do names drop a day early? What's the tolerance, +/- one day?

I certainly thought this name was more more, but it appears to have been on the wrong end of Google, i.e I think it is getting a penalty and secondly the loans serps pages at the minute are a joke.

Those things are temporary though and I think both the buyer and seller got good deals long term.

Good timing for the seller. The buyer had a specific need for their client. They brought a similar name off me although no where near that amount unfortunately. I should have taken it to auction.

I'm a little surprised they would spend £5k+ on an exact match with what appears to be penalised when a brandable could do just as well for a similar investment with less risk of negative seo. Just my opinion though!

+1

I've been holding off my opinion but if everyone is doing it :p

I looked into it when it only had one bid and thought it looked penalised.

If I was the new owner id disavow all the old links.

The penalised stuff just comes with the territory to be honest. When you outrank someone in finance, they dump 5000 spam links on you.

If it wasn't penalised, and wasn't the garbage in payday loans serps at Google. I'd have gone up to 30-40k on it.

Some people know what I got offered for one of my sites a little while back. Maybe a little bit of an odd one as the name would have been not a TM but it would have been close to the buyers brand so compared to what they spend monthly on branding, what they offered me was chicken feed compared to their monthly branding costs. I declined it in the end. But they were offering me a huge amount at one point.

I think the buyer can ride out the penalised stuff and within 6-12 months have it ranking. Even if not in Google, the traffic from Bing will be enough to earn their investment back in that time.

could be good from a PPC perspective, increase CTR, higher quality score, cheaper CPC.

Doubt in this niche the buyer will do PPC and especially as they are an SEO consultant/s but I get your point Mark

they wont be getting that to rank till the SERPS are cleaned up, so they may be waiting quite some time including the penalty.
