Okay, I'm going to reduce the price of this as I want to free up some money quickly. I've been looking for a new car for a while, and I've found one that looks perfect and I don't want to lose it.

£7000 buy it now, this offer is only available for a few days, so if you're interested let me know. I think with the domain and what you're getting with it, this is certainly priced to sell.

If either the car I'm looking at becomes sold, or the sterling cheque I just paid into my Czech bank account today clears, this price reduction is off the table and we're back to £10k min offer. So you don't have long if you want it at this price. I'm willing to take a hit on the price I'm asking to make sure I get the car I want, but once the car is bought (or I lose it) this offer is definitely gone.

Its a shame my credit rating in the UK is so poor - would be ideal to get a bank loan back home and use that to pay for it. That would mean I could do it without paying a deposit at all, whereas here I'm going to need to pay a rather large one.

Extremely hard to justify buying a "toy" with cash when its going to depreciate - makes far more sense to invest that money in a domain/site to develop. But if the car can be financed I can justify it.

I think in this game it definitely pays to keep as much cash on hand as possible as you never know what domains/sites are going to pop up for sale, and then be back off the market quickly. I over stretched when mobilephones.co.uk was up for sale, and I'd have definitely had that at the price it (didn't) sell for.

The problem is, the market isn't very liquid. If you have a diesel Mondeo for sale, there is hundreds of people looking for one at any one time, so you'll sell it quickly. Something higher end you might end up not being able to sell for ages, unless you deliberately cut the price to lower than market value.

I think if you pick the right car, you won't lose much at all, but you would need to do so in the knowledge that if you want the cash back quickly, you can't sell it in a week.
