Did Domainers Go Out of Business?

No one buying much anymore, even good names. I know I been away spending all me money for a month but this is ridiculous, it's dead on here.

Your monthly "ive blown all my money and need to flog some domains" thread right on que!!

Your names are dirt cheap, what they grabbing? nothing.

nowt like an ad in a thread - but I agree ! ;)

I am looking to sell soley to fund a few new domain purchases, roundabout swapsies if you see what I mean.

I sold one earlier (pre-list post) however there was a haggle over £125 to get the deal done , as I have posted before previously people wouldnt give a toss about such amounts but now are 'careful' about it sometimes to the point of losing a deal which makes no sense - perhaps thats the recession.

I took part in a 50 / 50 purchase of a few decent names on here recently and on one LLL there was a umming and aaahing about £50 on the pricing - it was bought - for the sake of fifty notes my logic was its better to have the name in the bag than arse about with such bits n bobs.

Deals are being done, I think the PPC downturn has hit people and that then directly affects domain sales but good names with good prices will always sell :)

Cheers,
A Very Long Term Bullish Rob

To me, the atmosphere on these boards has totally changed. It used to be a very bullish charged trading atmosphere, and now it's very subdued. I miss the old days ... especially as I never sold any of my domains at that time ... I'm holding for the long term now.

Rgds

Yes I did £22,500 last month and it's all gone - except what's required for paid expenses.

It has changed, it's weird. People I think, believed there was a recession. Hopefully it wont last long, names dropping again at the weekend maybe things will get moving.

Alot have made that change and in my view thats mainly due to 'stock' drying up - names that are dropping are often crap, and the odd good ones are highly sought after either on the drop or pre-drop contacts.

Odds n sods do come up for sale and do get bought up quite sharpish usually by the bigger players on here.

http://www.acorndomains.co.uk/general-board/44906-2009-predictions-thread.html was a good thread about what was predicted :)

Oddly enough with the possible inflation kicker to hit in 2010 cash might (and in some areas is) flow again into assets that will ride out such craziness!

Things will pick up for sure.

Need to be patient. Retail sales are still suffering, and hence most of use are allied to retail its going to affect us, best to hang on and eventually the market will turn around as people realize its not as bad as they think. People are en masse, thinking what will be next and hanging fire, but when a few goats emerge the other sheep will follow.

This is no time to be selling for cheap prices!

I know this might sound really stupid but have you ever thought about saving, apparently you put money in the bank when you don't need it and then spend it when you do, weird or what?

Not stupid at all, the mind boggles.

And of course saving a bit for the taxman

Names are selling, and for £xx,xxx behind the scenes :) (not for me personally unfortunately!)

I'm finding quality names are harder to come by unless you want something brandable rather than search related.

I've for £x,xxx available to spend right now yet I'm still searching for a name that meets my criteria.

Even Sedo has a lack of .co.uk names on auction and I must have sent out about 20 e-mails/letters within the past month all with little/no results.

An AD member reminded me that my recent successes are the cream and not the milk (cryptic I know) and I think he's right. Domains aren't changing hands as much and people are locking down the hatches and riding out the mildy calm storm imo.

Just my two cents as the American's say.
