Wanted: Domain Appraisal Deleted Domains

Hi all. I'm a bit new to domaining and currently have 8 domains parked. I am just about to purchase my ninth domain but it's a deleted domain. Is this safe to buy. How can I find out if it has not been associated with criminal activity. In my opinion it's quite a good domain.

What type of illegal activity?
Why do you think it's a good name? (brandable, generic, descriptive...)

If you search the domain in Google or at archive.org what comes up. If nothing then it's probably not been associated with anything too shady.

Thanks for your response and advice. I did a bit of research and ended up puchasing the domain. It is a discriptive domain. Just couldn't believe it was available
