I don't know how Setanta can be hated. The FA (and SFA) should have sold a highlights package to a terrestrial channel, rather than grabbing the Irish cash for exclusive rights.

It's because when Sky had the rights they used to give the highlight rights to the ITV and BBC for around £50k per year, if anything at all.

Setanta demanded £1m plus and won't let any news channels show the goals for 10 hours after the game finishes.

That's why they are hated, it won't last a year they'll be bankrupt pretty soon and people who have paid upfront will lose their money, well that's the industry rumour anyway.

It appears I have been listening to the wrong people. It's the host FAs that sell the rights for these away matches! Doh!
