i have spent 6 months on building the pages on this site,i have had affiliate links from paid on results, affiliate future and now amazon,i had a nasty car accident which badly smashed my leg so i have spent my time trying to build a website, i have changed the content on the site daily and most days i have added more pages and more content,i have also listed on a number of directories to increase traffic, but i am still having very little traffic and no affiliate payments, could somebody give me a pointer in the right direction:confused:

I'm no expert, but one of the things I would suggest is moving away from naming pages bulkXX.htm.

Go with proper page names using good quality keywords.

If you're a UK site, then pick up the .co.uk and point that at your site too.

OK, here are my thoughts:

- If you don't have an advertising budget, SEO is the only way you will get traffic to your site, so learn how to structure the site so that the search engines like it and can read it properly. My preference for SEO is text heavy websites that are content rich - i.e. if you have good quality text articles on your site it will help a lot, see:

http://www.webref.eu/search-engine-optimisation.php

- Think strongly about starting a niche site instead. Going for a generic car site is quite ambitious, and you are up against established sites such as www.pistonheads.co.uk. Instead choose a niche topic where you can become the authority, e.g. Toyota Celica forum, or maybe a car electronics forum or something. Think carefully about your subject matter, and then before starting out, check there are the volume of searches to support the site, i.e. that people actually go looking for this info:

- I don't think your autozaar.com is that strong, mainly because if you tell someone the name, there are a number of ways it could be spelt. I favour domain names that contain the generic terms, e.g. www.satnavsystem.co.uk etc.

- Focus on adding good quality text articles to your site, and become the internet authority on the subject that you have picked. Submit your articles to article directories, and start a blog.

- Spread your risk if you can. Maybe start 3 sites on 3 different subjects if you can get low cost hosting, so you don't have all your eggs in one basket.

thanks for that guys, that would have took weeks to search for that kind of info,i have just bought the domain carfault.co.uk it is online and i will create more pages within the next week,i would have liked the carfaults due to the fact that this is more of a search friendly word.all the links point at my autozaar site.i did make a goof on the name autozaar because auto is an american term and zaar is mispelt(tzar),this is my first site and paid somebody from guru lot of money to create a site that was visually poor,it is shown on the wayback machine if you would like to look,i learnt basic html and uploaded my own site,i have over 150 pages which i created so changing the bulk page identifer will take some months,i think in my head if i cast a net wide it will be better than having a niche site but i am completely wrong:idea:

thanks again guys

Why have you put a WC3 validation button on your site when it fails on 64 counts?

I would start with fixing your validation errors.

Most are javascript errors.

Half of them are easy to fix, where you have an & sign replace it with &.

The site in general is poor IMO, you could improve it by putting some padding between the text and the borders, and halfing the amount of ad's, you wont make more money just because you have more ad's.

I don't think even this will save it, it just looks a mess, why have all that curly graphics behind the navigation, it's not impressive its tacky.

keep it simple, dont try and be clever with colours or graphics because if you dont know what you are doing it looks awfull.

I am sorry if this sounds harsh but there is no point saying it's good when its not, you have to ask yourself, would you trust a site that looked like this?

The information that people might go to your site for is swamped in adverts, if the reason you want poeple to go to your site is for is information on cars then you are not achieving this, so whats the point of the site.:(

points taken,it was w3c valid until i started to add affiliate links,i haven't checked recently and thanks for the remarks i will be changing the landing page soon, this is my first site and if you had seen what a so called web designer did first time around it has improved in content,i am learning has i am going along i don't pretend to know anything about designing a website.
