Wanted: Domain Appraisal Cool Headphones

I may be able to get this domain for pretty cheap, and would have an amazon store on there. The domain is the co-uk version, and already is in first page of google if you search for 'cool headphones'. There is also 700odd exact monthly uk searches.

Would it be a wise investment of time/energy do you guys think?

Not right now. Thats why I am asking here, before I speak to the guy who has it. Developing it would cost me very little, so wondering if I was to go ahead and get it, and develop a site on it, would it be a profitable flip maybe in the future?

Steer clear of Amazon affiliation unless you have very heavy traffic - commission is dreadful.

I have better results with Datafeedr driven sites, plus other affiliates (e.g. via Affiliate Window).

yeah its only 5% but I find that being able to use text such as 'In Association with Amazon.co.uk' really help sell, as its a name people trust.

All within Amazons own guidelines ofc.

Will have to check Datafeedr out, but the framework I use to develop the sites has auto amazon import tools making it so easy to manage products and can be used for as many sites as I want without any additional ongoing costs.

So you wouldnt bother would you not?

Its like sticking great, smart , loud, groovy, red, Green. blue etc in front pretty pointless yes might sell some but likely not even cover your reg fee..?There the classic if it “list high enough “ yes great but if you can do that you’d be better doing something that makes a better commission… There’s nothing wrong with making a few $ a year but if you ad the your time, hosting , development etc would make more money walking around the streets picking up cans for scrap

yeah i see what your saying, but the ideal target price to make a decent commision on amazon is the 100-140 mark, allowing you to get nearly £7 a sale (provided its higher than a £140 sale and doesnt go over 150 max)

I am fairly confident I can make enough to self sustain a site, and couldnt we all say that really about the millions of domains we own? I know people who have actual blogs that need constant updating just so they can make a few pence per click on adsense.

The great thing is when you take that one affiliate site, then over the course of a year, duplicate it and edit say to another 100 websites, those pennies fast turn into pounds if you can rank well and generate a decent level of traffic.

Then they're doing it wrong. This isn't really the place to debate Adsense vs. affiliate marketing, suffice to say they both have pros and cons.

It's increasingly hard to rank new affiliate sites. Google hates them.

Also, I think you'll find it's a lot easier to do that in theory than in practice. It's like owning one dog, and then buying another two. The end result is not like having the work of three dogs, it's like having the work of twenty five. Don't ask me how or why, that's just what happens.

Devil, for future reference take note that you can't ask for an appraiasal on a domain you don't own.

Personally I wouldn't pay £10 for a domain like that.

Let's say you buy it, develop it and rank it to number one.

Now excluding cost of domain, time developing, linkbuilding, content, SEO etc....

Say your number 1 spot takes 70% of the exacts (you may get more long tail but let's take a semi realistic view) and you see 500 uniques per month.

On a 1% conversion (don't forget your visitors may not find your headphones 'cool') may see you at an average of £25 commission per month (5 sales at £5 commission). It's not niche enough so you may have to spend time keeping your rankings.

Personally I wouldn't struggle against such a tide for such a return. So I wouldn't buy but......

....if you are happy with these types of figures to then go for it.

LMAO. Dude (not Blossom), just take whatever budget you have, put 50% into 1/2 domains in a niche you have an interest in/has high income potential. Whatever's left put into design, content and links. Don't mess about with developing a million sites in piddly niches - you'll be wasting your energy.
