I've decided to cut down on development projects cos I've got too many on the go. This was going to be one of them but am thinking of selling.

The keyword gets 27k exacts with medium competition. A calculator with a comparison tool would obviously be a good way to monetise or maybe just a simple converter with ads. Either way...

... what are your thoughts on value?

Yeah, bit of a bummer but I agree with Seemly.

I read something recently by Matt Cutts, unfortunately I can't find the link, where he said Google are looking to provide more services like that where the search requires an exact answer.

He said websites should focus on areas where they can provide insight, reviews and opinions, if they are just providing specific data then it's likely they will be replaced.

Would agree hard to sell or make $$$ atm worked with a company that had been doing currency conversions site for 10 years "g" introduced there hit rate dropped drastically...

There route now adding when a currency started, what it looked like, the historical rate 10 years, how its made etc in a vain hope of appeasing “G” Does anyone care when all there doing is going on holiday for two weeks…

I Google "currency convertor" every day and have not seen that Google thing before, still wouldn't use it even seeing it at the top now, I use Google to get to the xe.com site, I know, I could go direct to xe.com's site but I'm a creature of habit and prefer doing it the way I do rather than typing the url in.

One way round it might be to develop some kind of desktop widget or mobile app and advertise that on the site instead? Or a website widget, nice way to get backlinks.
