Can anyone tell me how to add a welcome note to the front page of a commonsense CMS, and also perhaps an image or two ??

You need to use HTML inserts to add both text and images to the front page.

It looks like you can only insert it in the one position though on the homepage.

All your inputted text / Images would appear above the main content on the homepage.

Still it is a nice and simple way to create mini-sites, even if it is a little limited.

this is done within the index.php?

where abouts within the file?

Within the admin panel there is the option

HTML inserts

ah yes, thanks.

my next question.......(novice alert!)

on the index page, adsense is just picking up RSS and nothing to do with the actual site content. How can i change this?

I'm afraid i can't answer that one!

It seems to happen sometimes, it should fix its self after awhile.

You'll also see different ads if you visit without the www.

Out of interest, how long did it take you to knock that site up? What do you think of the software?

I purchased a site using that script, and have experimented with a site, but never got round to finishing it., but the cms (although limited) seems easy and quick to use.

it is very easy and good for what i need. I had intended to use Joomla but that baffled the hell out of me. It taken a couple of hours full on so far but a way to go yet.

Just started taking a more detailed look at the script, to say its easy really is an understatement!

Sure the script is limited (by its basicness) but its beauty is the speed of creation and setting up. Its perfectly possible to create a multi page site with search engine friendly URLS & adsense adverts in a matter of minutes. Okay so if you want to customise the layout etc its going to take longer.

In conclusion, everyone should try this script! Its does its job of creating simple sites that are easy to edit, in as small amount of time possible.
