Hello.
I am new to the forum and very glad I found it. I am very much looking forward to learning and sharing with everyone.
I have two questions I really need would like to resolve (I am a rookie with regard to the UK market so thanks for answering these questions again if they have already been addressed ) :
Question 1 - .com to .uk valuation comparison
I just picked up a .co.uk whose .com equivalent was appraised at $26,000 by http://estibot.com
http://www.domtastic.co.uk/ appraised the actual domain <domain>.co.uk at £1,000-1,100 (I checked registration this week and got this number along with other conservative factors on Domtastic and got this number).
.
Furthermore, all of the major extensions are gone and close variants of the domain are owned by large corporate domainers (according to Whois records).
I'd like to know is there some sort of industry practice of comparing the .com's value to that of the .co.uk? I read one professional domainer say that he tends to value the .nets at 10% of the .com's value (dont' know how he got that and I would imagine if other extensions plus close variations are gone, the value of the domain would go up....)
and having said that....
Question 2 - How to Make a Quick Sale?
I just purchased this domain this week and I'd like to sell it as soon as possible. What is the best way to go about doing this? This is a domain with a huge market and alot of money attached to it as well as in a sector which is one of the major ones people use the internet for (think travel, banking, property/real estate, etc).
I would be willing to sell at a lower end to speed the transaction along, but at the same time, I don't want to completely sell myself short.
This would represent my first domain sale and I think it's a bit of a winner so I wish to handle it the right way - thus the questions.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions. I am very much looking forward to them.
