Since new ICANN rules introduced last year, Registrars must verify domain whois details, and cancel domains if the Registrant does not respond.

Can anyone tell me how long the process takes, or where to access the information?.

For the .com domain in question, the Registrar obscured whois details a couple of years ago using privacy setting. This was removed on 5 October to reveal the original admin contact, which ceased to be a working email address more than 10 years ago.

Any help much apprecitated

Trying another possible solution I would need to read and understand Network Solution's Service Agreement - for new and existing customers. It is an eye-watering 180 pages long (88,000 words). Were the lawyers short of work when they wrote all that?

It looks as though .com data quality will improve significantly as the new rules take effect, forcing Registrars to release lame domains that they have been sitting on for years.
