Mods, can I use a 468 x 60 graphic banner in my sig that gives details of and links through to one of my affiliate sites?

Thanks

It would also eat into my banner ad revenues, why pay for a banner ad if you can have a free membership and just add a sig banner?

Would generate more spam IMO plus, mods would have to decide what banners are OK and what are not.

So the answer is no I am afraid.

I think it would be awful to have a load of banners knocking about under each post.

There are already an obscene amount of links in peoples signatures.

I do like seeing peoples websites in signatures, but some are all bolded up and colurful, looks messy, imo.

Scrolling through a page of text with the same sig images in each post is very very annoying and makes finding relevant text harder... Also it wouldn't be friendly to full browser mobile users.

I am very happy that Admin doesn't allow them and back the descision 100%

Rich

I must admit every site I've been on that allows them ends up looking cluttered and difficult to read. Much prefer the current system.

It's refreshing not to have the threads gunked up with page after page of ridiculous banners. I've given up using forums that switched over to allowing graphical sigs (or even out-of-control big text sigs) as there's far too little signal-to-noise on them.

I agree with the last 4 posts - no banners just text - much cleaner.

Shame you can't clear up some of the clutter from posters that make two or three posts per page and frequent legitimate postings over th elength of a thread, with some coding that only allows one set of sigs per thread..... is it necessary to have more than that?

If users read the start of the thread, then the poster's sig would be in that first post they make then no more.... towards the end of a long thread when you are getting more and more tired and want to scan (for us lazy ones ;) ) then there's less superfluous dross to scan...
