What do you all think of this domain name please?

Thanks,
Dave

you should have gone to spec savers before reg'in that.

imho junk, sorry.

 I got to ask, have you completely lost faith in .uk?

Some 'buy' sales in the past (from dnsaleprice.com so in $):

BuyBitcoins.co.uk - $1,150
BuyBacklinks.co.uk - $1,775
BuyABike.co.uk - $1,000
BuyMobiles.co.uk - $6,211
BuyAVan.co.uk - $1,998
BuyDomainName.co.uk - $2,228

WeBuyAnyLaptop.co.uk - $3,975
CarsToBuy.co.uk - $3,450
BuyCoins.co.uk - $1,177
FlexiBuy.co.uk - $1,806
WeBuyYourHome.co.uk - $1,078

Oh and the most important sale. BuySunglasses.co.uk £310.

BuyGlasses.co.uk IS MUCH BETTER.

Wow, props to you!

I don't mean to sound ego sorry if I do what I mean is I still feel positive about general .uk domain sales (non premium basically) whereas I get the impression some here only see value in absolute premium domains nowadays. That kind of vibe is BAD FOR .UK DOMAINERS.

Not at all - that's impressive for hand registrations.

I think for many confidence is rock bottom. There seem to be hundreds of threads each week listing domains for sale on here but virtually no evidence of any takers. That is very different to the situation of 3 or 4 years ago.

Yes very true and a shame really. I know of some who are already shifting away from .uk because they also lost confidence. The question is if domainers themselves have no confidence in a TLD how can we expect end users to have any?

For me at least its not a loss of confidence in the extension its more the fact I cant just throw up a thin store and have it rank and make money anymore.
It makes it hard for me to justify a xx / low xxx spend without some proper plan on what I want to do with a domain.

That being said I probably had sales in the region £800 last month from non premium drops that didn't get a sniff pre the .uk finalisation.

Maybe we all need to start doing more business in the open like the old days

What I like about it is that it is very descriptive, so people could remember it when buying glasses. Whether someone is prepared to back it as a brand is just down to luck. I think it's a reasonable name.

Rgds

Thank you all for your appraisals, glad to see some others on the same wavelength as me. :)

I do believe in some 'buy' domains, indeed I sold one (buyPRODUCT.co.uk) for high ££££ a few years back.

However comparing your examples with the below does not work - e.g. buyastar.co.uk is a differet concept.

Also, I feel the 'buy+keyword' thing is old had and bit of a mid 2000 throwback, although if you're selling them like hot cakes then I need to eat humble pie and carry on.

Like Billy said, buyglasses is a bit too generic where as buysunglasses is like ronseal.
