Just wondering if any domainers or brokers happen to know anyone at Virgin Group, or their web-agency (or know anyone who might know anyone)?

Reason is, I regged some domains the other day, just on a speculative basis -

creditcard.vg
health.vg
phones.vg

Then it suddenly occurred to me today that the VG extension would be brilliant for Virgin (it's almost like it was tailor-made for the Virgin Group!) - and of course they sell phones, have a credit card, and health clubs.

So, I figured it's a huge long-shot, but worth trying to get in touch with them to see if they'd be interested in the domains

I'm pretty new to domaining, so would be happy to pay a finder's/broker's fee to anyone who could help me (if the deal was successful)

All the best

Cheers, Jon

Hi Jon, I do have a contact there but I can assure you they won't be interested as branding is an important part of Virgin's operation and these domains don't qualify.

And if you offer it to them they could quite easily take them off of you for free. Have a read up on DRS save getting your fingers burnt. :D

Hardly. Only if he tries to trade with those generics by passing off as the Virgin brand. He can make a credit card site etc. if he wants to as long as he doesn't make the implication that he's in any way related to Richard :D

Thanks for your help

Thanks for the replies. It was just one of those wacky ideas that pops into your head sometimes - definitely a longshot!

Back to the drawing board :)

Cheers, Jon

Once he offers it for sale to them they would have a good case for abusive registration. Helped by the fact they are parked with virgin and other credit card ads on.

i. Circumstances indicating that the Respondent has registered or otherwise acquired the Domain Name primarily:

A. for the purposes of selling, renting or otherwise transferring the Domain Name to the Complainant or to a competitor of the Complainant, for valuable consideration in excess of the Respondent's documented out-of-pocket costs directly associated with acquiring or using the Domain Name;

Just to clarify, I originally regged the domains with the intention of building general sites on them, related to the keywords/names. The Virgin Group idea was just a daft "creative leap" that occurred to me yesterday, it was definitely NOT my intention when I registered them.

The current parking page is being served by GoDaddy automatically (I'm not using their parking service, it's just the generic service they use until someone points the nameservers elsewhere)

Cheers, Jon
