Hi All

I'd be grateful if people could test creating a review at my new Reviews Site, ReviewKing.co.uk.

You don't have to register, you can review as a Guest, but I would appreciate it if some of you could test the Registration procedure. It's working fine for me, I just need to check it works ok for others.

If you don't see a product that you can review, then let me know in the thread a phone / electronic item / electrical appliance that you are able to review and I will add it to the site.

As an incentive to any domaining newbies, I will give you my appraisal of a domain name (respectable domains only) in return for you adding a review.

Thanks for any testing.

it all works well for me ime using google chrome at the moment, figured most other people would use firefox or IE so you've covered the 3 main bases, opera could be worth a look as well but that's only a tiny % of users and someone with a mac because of safari would probably be a good idea as well.

Thanks for your testing. You added an iPhone 3G S review as Guest right? That's now been approved.

yep that was me, ime a curious sod and wanted a look at the site so thought i may as well do something half useful while i was there

Appreciate the review. As I see you're a newcomer to the boards, drop me a PM if you'd like to ask a question or two about domaining / domain appraisal / affiliate marketing.

thanks for the offer but dont worry i wont be bugging you with questions :) plenty to read on the forums, ime just glad i heard of this place always thought it was a weird hobby to be interested in domains little did i realise there was a website full of hints and tips rather than sales pitches, as well as friendly people.

anyway good luck with your site altho it looks like you know what you are doing anyway so dont need much in the way of luck.

Returning the favour - just took a quick look at your site and although I haven't created a review, I took a quick look around.

I think that the layout and ad placement is pretty good. I ike the colors (similar to my other site) and the individual item pages seem to have the ads in the best spots.

One opportunity you might be missing out on is the link titles.
For example the links in the middle of this page don't have title tags:
Laptop Reviews

So you might be missing out on some internal SEO benefits too.
Maybe also you can add links/graphic ads to pages like this:
Search for a Product

How does this set up perform as an affiliate site? Have you thought about cloaking or any redirects? I just started getting into affiliate sites, although I have a textbooks site - am now thinking about the ins and outs and what I should try to get right the first time around to save me trouble later.

I would describe my reviews site as a secondary site in terms of affiliate potential. I hope to use the data it will provide to give better recommendations on my main affiliate sites. The other good thing about it is that people can add content themselves, which has many benefits.

The main thing you need to get right when starting affiliate sites is to ascertain which areas really have potential. Take a look in the network control panels and see what is being offered before starting your sites.
