Baseball.net sold via Flippa, price was $15,100.

Was sold in 2008 at TRAFFIC conference for $52,500. D-:That's a big loss for the owner. Could have changed owners between then.

Is .NET just not a good extension for resell?

I guess with the release of the new gtlds is watered down .net

It's impossible to conclude anything from a single data point.

You don't know the circumstances behind the sale. For instance, the owner may have been desperate to free up a bit of cash before a tax bill became due. Firesales will always attract much, much lower prices.

I am not saying ".net values have held firm" I am simply saying that we have literally no way of telling based on this single sale. Now if we had 50 or 100 examples, we might start to conclude something...

What would your advice be to anyone currently thinking of spending $50,000 on a .net? would it have been different prior to the announcement of the new gtlds

My advice is no different than it would have been in 2008: there are better uses for the money.

For resellers definitely a tough sell.

That's abysmal, .net is basically dead.

You mean .net is watered down from new Gs?

There was this Vape.net sale.
