DomainLore Auction Area.co.uk + Area.uk

Ends in a couple of days. Bidding picking up nicely.

Reminder...

This ends tonight, in a little under 7 hours (as per the timestamp of this post)

Why did you decide to end it out of business hours? if I may ask

Yes, exactly. But maybe it wasn't the right choice. It's one of those "road not travelled" things...

So people aren't at work and can pay attention to the bidding?

Most seem to set theirs to end 2-5pm weekdays

I've become conditioned to expect auctions for the better domains to end at that time

But maybe that's just me and I only bid on a name once every other blue moon anwyho

I wonder if the finish time matters that much for domain that is attracting interest? If you want it, does an evening finish time matter so much?

Id imagine the people bidding would have had their maximum price in mind to make it a worth purchase. If it was finishing at a time that wasnt ideal and they were serious surely they would just enter an auto-bid for their max offer ?

That thinking makes sense, but the reality I've seen from watching auctions is most domains that finish high prices spike at the end in the last 10 minutes onwards (when it gets extended)

As did this sale, which went up £600 in the last few minutes.

I guess thats the buzz of an auction, you have some buyers willing to push above their limit in the heat of the moment and others which stick to their original valuation and don't budge above it.

On this particular auction, I wonder if Gordi555 would have extended his bid ( from auto bidding up to £1500 ) which ran out 5 mins before the end of the auction.

Impulse during an auction should never be underestimated.

Hope the price is roughly where you wanted it to be Edwin.

Well, I'd never say no to more ;)

But it wasn't too bad.
