I was just wondering what people thought this was worth. I have listed it for sale in the 'eu domain names for sale' section and though I have a rough idea of how much I would like, I just wanted some opinions.

Unfortunately traffic is low, no PR and low revenue, that said I haven't developed it and there is no content on the site. The name is reasonable and with Wimbledon coming up I was hoping that the poor stats wouldn't be too much of a problem.

Anyway, opinions are appreciated.

Thanks,
Alex

I'll comment. I have a personal dislike of geo specific places/events/things with a *different* country domain. To me .eu is classed as different.

Much like (to me): lasvegas.co.uk , munich.co.uk, eiffeltower.co.uk etc.

The only exception is with .com/.org/.net as these are location independent.

I'm not that keen on .eu's but this is an obvious one that will be taken off you even if it has slight success... trademark

things like lasvegas.co.uk I think would be a nice domain/site because lasvegas has (and can have more) appeal to brits.

Thanks for the comments, not quite what I was after, but opinion noted. I appreciate that the .eu bit isn't great, but for a Europe targeted site then who knows? Anyway in response to your point about a trademark, I have just checked the database and it isn't stricktly trademarked. The wimbledon Logo and affiliated names etc are, but as wimbledon use 'wimbledon.org', legally i seem to be ok with this one. WimbledonTennis.com, co.uk, net etc are not owned by the Wimbledon tennis club and seem to be up and running with no affiliation, at the minute anyway! With that aside then would you say there is any value in the domain or do you think that realisticly I shouldn't waste the time trying?

Alex,
IMO if you get a successful site up you would lose it or at least have tht potential so is it really worth it? Wimbledon make fortunes from their merchandise and they would probably protect that if you got big enough.

Regarding value, .eu may do ok in the search engines but generically they dont hold alot of value. You will find that most domains of any value are not free to reg with in 2008 the exception of certain future technologies and niches.

Reg fee for me

I don't know the state of the other domains but it is definitely a trademark. You have registered and unregistered trademarks, so even if it isn't registered they still have the right to protect it.

There is no other reason for someone to stick wimbledon and tennis together in a domain without refering to the tourny...

I don't think it has value sorry
