I'm new to the domain game and I was thinking of trying it as a hobby or business opportunity. I noticed that audiodealer.co.uk had been sold for £9,000 in April, so when I found that videodealer.co.uk was still available I registered it on the chance that it might be worth approximately the same.
It seems too good to be true that I can register a name for a few quid and then perhaps sell it for thousands, and my first reaction is to say "What's the catch?". But I'm going to keep an open mind until I learn more about this business, just in case I really have discovered a genuine opportunity.
So is audiodealer.co.uk's sale price of 9k a genuine guide to what I can expect to get for videodealer.co.uk? Or are there other factors affecting the price that I may not yet have learned about?
I appreciate that the only way to be sure is to park it and advertise it on a site like Sedo to see what happens, but I'd like to get the opinions of some experienced members before I decide whether to start trading in domain names now or wait until I've gained more info about the business. So can any of you tell me what you think videodealer.co.uk is really worth?
