Hi,
I was hoping someone could please give me their appraisal of the domain name Holidays To dot com - the site itself is currently being developed so it's purely the domain name on its own that I was hoping to appraise.
I had the domain appraised on Sedo about 6 months back and they valued it at £4000, but said that it had very little search engine potential.
I disagree with this and was looking to see if I'm missing something...
Surely HolidaysTo.com/Spain, or HolidaysTo.com/Paris is second in search engine potential only to HolidaysToSpain.com or HolidaysToParis.com - Assuming my logic here is correct (and completely ignoring the sites current PageRank, lack of SEO etc - all things that can be improved with time, money and effort) surely this makes HolidaysTo.com one of the "holiday websites" with the most Search Engine potential, especially when you consider that a subpage could be created for every popular Holiday Destination?
Purely as a thought exercise, if Googles algorithm didn't work on links, but on how relevant the website URL is to a users search, would anything beat HolidaysTo.com/Spain for a user Googling "Holidays To Spain" - except Holidays.com/Spain and HolidaystoSpain.com?
I got an offer for £4500 shortly after the appraisal, so I wasn't sure if something sly was going on and someone was trying to buy it from me on the cheap, or if my own appraisal of the domain is way off the mark.
I got it for $40 last year, so I won't be too disappointed if I'm wrong, but I'd be interested in any opinions please.
Thanks for your time.
