Hey,

I've currently got my domain (www.greatvalue.co.uk) listed for sale with Sedo for £900. Does anyone think this is too high, or possibly that the domain would be worth more?

I think it'll be of most use to anyone involved in sales etc. Any ideas greatly appreciated!

TIA

If you post it at £900 and no one enquires about it, what do you learn from that ?.Nothing. If you post it at £50 and get lots of enquries what do you learn from that ?.You learn that it is perhaps under priced, or at least at right price. If you ask people to "make offers" it at least lets you know/learn that they are genuinely interested in the name ansd then if you lose the sale at least you know why. Hope that makes some sense ?. What I am trying to say is if you put a domain like say, y6r4hj5j7.co.uk for sale at £10K you are not going to know whether someone wanted that name but didnt like the price,or they simply didnt like the name. If you put "make offer" then at least you know they are interested and then its down to you negotiating skills etc.

I'm often put off by 'make an offer', especially if i'm unsure of the value myself. I always prefer to have a price in mind.

Good name for a shopping price comparison site maybe or a nice web address for a company selling 'great value' products.

on sedo most set a minium to make it worthwhile - you have to consider sedo fees (min £100) so set to £300 if the names any good - also prevents spamers.

if your want to accept offers less and not be obliged to sell then park else where. - thought sedo listings are a popular search.

if you read some of the threads in the forum, value of a domain is apparent - of course domains like computers.co.uk have a high value but most of the time the value of the domain is what you personally are prepared to take for it - if you have nothing in the bank then £500 is a lot of money - if you have millions then £500 is chump change! £6 investment dont be greedy ;)
