All the domains here recently on these has reminded me again, lol.

I've recently bid on a couple of e cig domains as I've been looking for quite a while for a decent name to develop a site on these, but the prices have gone higher than I wanted for this particular niche.

So, pleased to find available to reg:

ElectronicCigaretteReview.org.uk

Also got electronic-cigarette-review.co.uk

Which according to Google KW tool has 1,900 exact Local Monthly Searches.

Do people feel it's a strong enough domain to develop or shall I continue my search?!

Also, if I go with this, do I use the .org.uk or the .co.uk with hyphens? ;)

Thanks. :D

This is a difficult one, in terms of knowing how much effort to put in.

If e-cigs become mainstream, the market will explode and you’ll be in a good position to take advantage -- but the flipside is the market could be hampered or killed by legislation. Some countries have already banned them (e.g. Australia and Singapore), some have banned advertising (E.g. Netherlands and some US States) and some are treating them as medicines (E.g. Denmark, Austria).

It seems likely that UK legislation will go down the medicines route (the Euro decision is less clear), which would reduce the market to a handful of sellers who can afford the medicine licences – for this reason, you’ll never see a E-Cig retailer advertising them as an aid to stop smoking…if you do develop, you need to bear this in mind.

Personally, I prefer electroniccigarettereview.org.uk. But it's also worth noting that the Adwords ban on 'cigarette' terms only applies to two word phrases - so you'll have adwords competition.

Thanks archibel, that's a very useful insight. :)

I've decided to go with the .org.uk and the research and content I've done so far most definitely backs up your points on Aus prohibiting selling for e-cigs that have nicotine and Denmark too, with Hong Kong having an outright ban.

But, I think for what it will cost to develop (not much!) and a few hours on time, I'll run with this and see what happens. I'm currently applying for various affilliate programmes to partner with. Affiliates won't partner with anyone who promotes the e-cig as a nicotine cessation aid either so sites need to be careful about this.

So, time will tell and I'll report back on progress!

Thanks again.

Well, I'm up and running at Electronic Cigarette Review and I'm well within my own self-imposed target of getting all new domains acquired into active development within 7 days, so I'm pleased, lol. ;)

Just waiting for some more affiliates to come through then we can add more E-Cig reviews. If anyone has any good affiliate recommendations, would you let me know please? Thanks! :D

Thanks for the link GD - now got another couple of affiliates under the belt.

Just been offered a free kit in exchange for doing a You Tube review. Mhmmm, wonder if the world is ready for my debut?! LOL. ;)
