If we use Amazon as the example.
It's like saying "ohh, since 1994 the searches for Amazon have gone sky high. I'm going to build the best site about the Amazon on Amazon.org.uk cos there are so many people searching"
The searchers are looking for the site Amazon.co.uk/.com - the site is responsible for the increase.
People searching for App Inventor are searching for the popular free software of the same name. Literally every result on the first several pages is for the free software.
there aren't even any Adwords ads targeting the phrase.
What do you think people searching for "App Inventor" are looking for?
Amazon I meant 'Amazon Shoes' doesn't make 'shoes' worthless even if Amazon made search for shoes popular online. The popularity of the bigger entity is your potential gain as the niche and i'm not sure when that became a problem. Seems rather to me that's what most are surviving on monetization wise. No expert though.
With regard the rest. More people search for AppInventor in the UK than do in America where the site i'm sure your talking I'd only presume went online with Americans in mind.
I'm not convinced they built the site targeting Brits even if Brits like it more than they do. That heavily suggests to me at least not everyone searching for the term is looking for that particular site. And I have no data on who goes direct to the site but to me most of us navigate through our search engines which is often quicker than typing the url.
The 'no one else is doing it' argument is sound but that's not how I domain. I am just as happy with the concept of potential as I am with established. But it's a valid argument the term isn't monetized.... yet.
As for meaning. That's why I opened this thread. I don't think AppInventor, AppGenerator, AppCreator, AppMaker or even Apps that any of them mean the same thing. So many roads to an app. Are you just building the app version of your existing website? Are you just an amateur having a bit of fun? Do you want to learn how to build an app? [ie the website in question lets not forget is ENTIRE purpose is to promote inventive app building for social and commercial gain] Do you just want to learn how Apps are built? And I'm sure there's more.
But Q i'm interested in is are you an Entrepreneur successful or not who wants to build a profitable app, cos it process involving all sorts savvy, skill, and due diligence, and maybe you'd benefit from the assistance of a professional throughout that process? Because the last question I've been that position myself in the past but gave up on the idea. Quotes I got were beyond my means at the time.
Now as for your valuation of £0. I invited the valuation so it's welcome, i'm only countering, but I'm still struggling to see how I'd run this domain through say that popular domain name auction and no one would even bid £50 based on the sheer almighty strength of your arguments presented so far. I think it would sell for more than £50 in fact. Not that it matters as I aim to develop it myself. It's one of the things I'm into. I prefer AppInventor as I've made patent applications myself and patents don't apply here but the process of inventing does and leading someone in with 'app maker' lots of bright colours in no way reflects the true journey to have success inventing or designing an app. I'd be seeking the crowd who understand it's going to be a journey. Niche.
If anyone reading this knows anything about App Inventing feel free to comment.
