hi, resell aside and type ins aside, is there any value in developing largish mini-sites on generic me.uk, such as rentaproperty .me.uk.

seo presumably is unaffected,

and what about the regulations on me.uks. is there enforcement in place?


same question for .org.uk?

erm...no, it doesn't say that! If you can show your birth certificate says your name is 'usedcars' then yes your fine!! But if it doesn't then they may take it off you at re-registration or at any time!!

For that reason alone I wouldn't invest in any .me.uks right now!

me.uk is a gamble as one day they could come and take it off you if they ever decide to do a purge.

me.uk will never get any type ins but pick a good generic and they are great for seo.

If you are planning a minisite for adsense, I would take the gamble. I'm sure you can retrieve your reg fee plus a good bit more.

And if they ever do have a purge, you will have had a good run for your fiver.

Not that I know of. When I say it is a gamble I mean maybe one day if they do have a purge then you could lose it. But I do not know of any at present.

money.me.uk is registered and directed to a parked page. The owner is hoping to make money by visitors clicking on the links on the page. When they do they go to other pages that show adverts. If someone clicks on an advert, the owner makes money.

Interesting reading. What is more alarming is they have not acted upon both names although it was brought to their attention in 2004.

Both names were regd in 2002 and continue to be today.

I don't think me.uk's are good for reselling, but I do believe they are worth the risk of a fiver if you are planning to try and moneytise.

they do not pre vet domain names in respect to rights and therefore unless someone pays for an expert decision on a me.uk they can do nothing..... Nominet sell unlwaful domain names so these should be last on the list to police
