looking for peoples views on affiliate marketing.

Does any members buy and sell items direct rather than using affiliate schemes. Im thinking of going down this route so just looking for advice/pointers really.

any guides/help/info appreciated.

looking for peoples views on affiliate marketing.

I think it's great. I can sell stuff to people without having to carry any stock myself and without having any customer service hassles.

What else did you want to know?

yes

80% of our revenue comes from direct deals

If we do a lot of volume via a network we generally end up with some sort of direct deal, mainly as the merchants approach us to do so.

We also operate white labels and send about 25% of our traffic to them and then negotiate with back end suppliers to fullfill these.

Be warned that you still will have suppliers going bust on you.

If using a network work with the ones who are probably not going bust, ie TD/CJ/AW/Buy.at. Apply the same logic to everyone who is going to owe you money.

Drop shipping .. no stock/inventory to carry .. you sell/take orders for the goods before you buy/pay for the goods .. the supplier ships direct to the purchaser .. can be run direct from your own website or from Ebay type of sites ..

Example drop shipper for Electronics Gadgets direct from China - Mobile Phones - Car DVD Player - MP4 Player - Car Video Portable DVD Player .. ect is:

You use their stock photos/description of goods to be marketed you add your own mark up to the wholesale price that you pay ...

This can be done with any number of things with different suppliers .. all you need do is go look for them.

Chinavasion.com is pretty simple because they do everything for you but there are many others out there who supply hundreds of saleable products suitable for direct selling from a website see http://www.alibaba.com/ as an example you would need to work that out for yourself how to deal with the suppliers ..

These are just examples. I am not an affiliate nor a reseller of any of the above Companies. I do not endorse or recommend any of the above websites ...

I would strongly advise against dropshipping from China. Delivery times are poor, customer is often charged for the goods entering the country and the main thing is that unless you have a very strong relationship with a supplier they will often send out the wrong/used/damaged items basicly to get rid of their crap or colours/types they cant sell. Most electronics are very good fakes or replaced with lesser quality internals. You also cant compete on ebay because the items are being sold directly from china/hong kong anyway...
