I was thinking about using the Sedo auction because there is some rather random domains being sold, do you have any tips?

If you are looking to buy a domain from an auction it would be wise to do some background checks first, one way to do this would be to install seoquake , this will give you access to alexa traffic rank, wayback machine, links etc.

be careful though the above stats can be manipulated as some domain sellers are generating false traffic by putting their domains on pay per click sites, the buyer (you) would bid up to £xxxx.xx for a duff domain with false traffic.

Right ok thanks UG, I will bare that in mind, and will also take a look at SEO Quake.

snakes on a pram

sedo is like pulling teeth lemon... very painful... only put DN's on sedo if you can wait for a result / funds etc ;)

Hehe, yeah took about 11 days to get my money when I sold my last DN, although revenue was rather quick.

By the way, how do I list on an auction - do I have do get a bid first then list it?
