Hi all,

I'm still pretty new to all this and I'd love your advice on what to do to develop this site www.themanwhohaseverything.co.uk

It used to get about 50 UVs a day, but I had used a free trial version of BuildMyRank to create 10 articles linking to it - and now Google has deindexed the whole BMR network I'm slipping down in the G rankings again.

All the content on it is unique, the prices and links are all done manually so I have to keep an eye on them.

2 things:
  1. Any ideas for how to go about link-building? - is submitting to directories the best solution for a site like this?
  2. In the long run, I would like it to compete for keywords outside the EMD (in a very competitive niche I know). Be good to hear any suggestions/ideas for what you'd do with it if you owned it

The blog bit is new - I wanted to increase the % of pages that don't have affiliate links in them, and to hopefully rank in the future for articles such as '10 Fathers Day gift ideas for men'.

It works best on a desktop at the moment as it uses a rollover effect. I will make a separate tablet/mobile stylesheet if the traffic starts picking up again.

Thanks very much,

Ben

Why didn't you have a semi-opaque title visible for mobiles/tablets? The rollover text/price does show up when you click it.

I think it's a great concept and if you can keep interest there's massive potential

Done - the mobile/tablet version doesn't look quite as nice as the desktop version but it's more user-friendly now I hope!

Thanks

Re 1, you really need to come up with some novel, interesting informative articles, then try and get them published on high PR sites. E.g. you might create an article featuring some "men who have everything". You need something high quality that will get you published and get you the link.
