Is there a post covering advertising?

I paid for a service a couple of days ago and the relevant thread has been removed because the creator/supplier has not paid an advertising fee to the forum

I never knew there was an advertising fee for service providers is this new?

Cheers mally

I expect if Admin thinks people are taking the piss with services they offer on the forum, he reserves the right to remove their posts, he has rules about advertising on the forum:

http://www.acorndomains.co.uk/faq.php?s=&do=search&q=advertising&match=all&titlesonly=0

Advertising on this site is not free. If you wish to advertise your own website, products or services on AcornDomains.co.uk, please contact Admin first to agree terms otherwise your thread may be blanked or removed. We prohibit advertising of other Domain Name Forums or Domain related Commercial products or services without payment or prior agreement with Admin.

I've contacted the service provider and they have been told to pay £xxx per month advertising fee.

Thats a massive amount especially since I paid a total of £25.00.

If every other thread was an Indian company offering $5 articles, SEO etc though then the forum might soon become unusable for members.

It amazes me people think they can advertise here for free.

Can I advertise on all your sites for free?

I pay GOOD MONEY for the dedicated server I use to run the site and try to recover that wherever I can with paid for adverts.

I do let some go but when people only come here to advertise and keep reposting the same thing over and over I draw the line.

Maybe it would be clearer to add an advertising page, so people offering services are able to see what options are available.

Everyone wants something different and I don't accept all ads so a page wouldn't help much. In fact I turn away quite a few if I don't think the subject is right (like a recent one, premium email accounts).

This site has great traffic so anyone advertising here gets a good return from natural search traffic and all the members but I don't want to overdo it.
