Wanted: Domain Appraisal 230v.com - New Pan-European Voltage - Apprasial

Hi Guys,

I've got a domain www.230v.com

230v is the new EU standard voltage which is the harmonisation voltage of all EU countries (Including UK).

I'd expect over the years to come > 5 years maybe but this will be the voltage printed on packaging and requirements etc.

With the long term view in mind... What are your suggestions?

Hi Ben, arn't we 240 in the UK? So anyway we will soon be 230? How will that happen?? Its not like lbs and Kgs, that shit comes out of a hole in the wall lol...

Anyway if it was 240v I suppose it would have some 'electrical' interest, so yes I like it, but hey if its going to be 230 soon then all the better for you. It certainly should be memorable

Its not the 'new' EU standard. The 230v harmonisation within the EU has been in effect for the past 12 years!... UK appliances have been operating within this standard for years...

The UK standard used to be 240V. The transition period that has been in effect since 1995 ends next year. The reason for this transition was for manufactures to roll in/out products to operate in line with the new standard. The standard is 230V but all appliances now currently operate within a range of 220V-240V.

I fail to see what all the excitment is about!

I've been approached by a German company interested in the domain- so I just wanted some feedback about how much is it worth before entering negotiations.

Maybe they feel differently about this on the continent. Most european countries have adopted the Euro without question - so maybe they will go for the Voltage too - even if it just in name (see link above).

B&Q have registered www.diy.com - maybe a big electrical supplier with long and tedious name might use this for their online marketing.

If it is an eu specific product/service!! much better than the .com for eu purposes... .eu WILL BE dot com's little brother eventually...fcuk .de
