I see we have just gone over 2000 members - the ones that work anyway ;)

We will have more members than Nominet soon :D

Actually I haven't really been paying attention. It would be useful if the Admin could give a list of the users with multiple names.
Some of the topics would make a lot more sense if we knew this.

(I assume that vBulletin has some sort of 'track user' function in admin.)

Stirrer!! :)

It would be great if Admin did that, I reckon there'd be quite a few ruffled feathers about :)

Perhaps i'm being a little simple here but i never realised there were people who had more than one identity!

I know one user has - that's obvious, I'd be a little displeased if there were more though, it shouldn't be allowed, I banned mutliple usernames on my forum years ago, it cuts out a bit of fun but in the main it did cause more problems. I normally let it go when they're having an obvious laugh but being hostile or rude under different guises then they get banned.

Haven't looked at this but you can search in VB Admin for users with the same IP address.

I will take a look sometime, but I doubt I will publish anything. We get asked to provide information on members from time to time, as far as we are concerned people register in privacy and would not favour us disclosing email addresses etc.

Admin, btw did you notice this appears at the bottom of the forum main page:

Code:
What's Going On in the Domain Name Community?
<!----a href="online.php?"--->Domainers Online: 56 (25 members and 31 guests)

HTH,

Agreed but I dont see how I can avoid this. Even the big US forums have thousands more registered users than active ones.

It's all about percentages with forums, the minority will always post, the majority will always read frequent and infrequently. It's giving the majority a reason to post and a voice that's the target to aim for.

I could talk out of my own arse (I thought you already did) if I was given another tongue and a pair of teeth so forums have never really bothered me but for others they have to find a reason to dive in and venture forth. I find the best way of learning is to do exactly that, figure out the mistakes after.

The only reason to put a stop to multiple usernames is when they're replying to own threads, anon posting is ok when it's required and informative but s*** stirring should be halted. It's a good forum, not much hassle and even when there is it's easily dealt with, harmless compared to some I've dealt with over the last eight years. ;) <<< That's a wink.

I don't understand why people would want to hide.

All I would say is that those who are true to themselves and have faith in what they believe in, have no need to work in shadows.

We are who we are and we should accept that.

After all, nobody's perfect. ;)

As I posted to that 'Informer' bloke... you have no bollocks. As for Louise... I am guessing the same :)

Multiple personality syndrome?
