C'mon sedo, what's the point??

Without domainers, you have nothing. It's about time you gave something back!

Increasingly, these pointless amounts are creeping in, regardless of keyword.

When are you going to realise that a minisite is a 5 minute job, and adsense (etc) payouts, whilst not great, are still preferable to those which your company are offering at the moment!

You cannot rely on commission from sales alone, especially when so many sedo sales do not actually complete.

So, I challenge you Sedo, convince us why we should use your service...

a) when there are plenty of other places to park out there
b) minisites can be thrown up with adsense in a matter of minutes
and get listed on google within days
c) The populus are fast realising what a parked page is, know its purpose,
and navigate away within seconds.

I'm all ears..............

For the record, €0.02 is 1.5p, 3 mojo's in the good old days.

Hi Pendragon,

I'll try to go through these points one by one:

a) when there are plenty of other places to park out there
:

Indeed there are but we are the only ones with multilingual service, a UK-based parking team and a successful one-stop format where you can buy, sell and park. Ultimately the decision about where to park is down to each individual domain owner based on his portfolio and how different segments of it perform at different providers.

b) minisites can be thrown up with adsense in a matter of minutes
and get listed on google within days

Gone are the days when “minisites” can hope to pass themselves off as fully developed multi-page sites with dynamic content. The ad providers and advertisers are both questioning the conversion of “minisites”:

i. http://adwords.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=50002

ii. Google: “In general, we've found that ads on parked domain sites perform as well as or better than ads on search and content sites.”

c) The populus are fast realising what a parked page is, know its purpose,
and navigate away within seconds.

There is no slowdown in traffic/conversion overall on parking (see the report linked above again)

The populus in reality does not care if the page is a parked page or not, as long as they find what they are looking for if the ads are relevant, which is down to the domain owner choosing relevant keywords.

I believe your Account Manager has already contacted you, and he is always available if you would like to discuss this.

Regards,

Shaun

€0.02 is a very low sum considering the profits that are been made. A better share would be better, as without domainers there would not be Sedo.

All you are saying then is that parked sites perform 'as good as' a minisite. So if we would get the same click rate, why would we chose sedo when the payout is so low?

Bit Like council tax. I want to pay for what I use.
Not interested in multilingual.
Uk based parking team. - Who take ages to answer emails!

I beg to differ as will lots of people on this site.

I agree. It's been consistently poor for a considerable time. which is why I have moved most of my domains away and onto minisites.

Hi Rob 321a,

First of all, I believe the quote was 'as well as or better than ads on search and content sites'. And pointed optimisation will soon sort out the €0.02 clicks.

To Hammer, I am sorry if you have had delays in answering e-mails, please PM me if it is anything I can help you with.

Regards,

Shaun

must agree, i had a dedicated account manager called Dave at Sedo, he left for holiday for 2 weeks a while ago without telling me, no one else answered anything for that period. I moved most of my sites to namedrive now, much better cutomer service.

I had a site getting paid £0.75 per click, now its on £0.04 and i know the traffic is quality as its a typo for the site that pays me......

€0.02 is a very low sum

That's nothing I have had a lot of €0.01 so go figure that. Come on SEDO for starters get your emails working.... then try making us feel valued in the UK...
