    The .UK revolution

Saw this in my neighbourhood which made me happy – cambridgefibre.uk and they redirect the .co.uk Local business, local registrar, local hosting 👍

Nominet Consultation opens on significant changes to .UK registry systems

There are no such thing as dumb questions, only dumb answers ;) They are not proposing these changes because the existing system is wrong or broken, but in order to standardise and have consistency across different platforms they operate. In my view, the "pull" system is more familiar and makes...

Nominet Consultation opens on significant changes to .UK registry systems

These are significant changes to the .uk registry and I would urge anyone who is a Nominet registrar to have a close read and respond to the consultation. Even if you are non-technical and think you don't know or care what EPP is and does, you will still be impacted by this one way or another...

Nominet Nominet named .gov.uk registry operator

Agree. One would naturally think that .gov.uk and .ac.uk are just another extension of Nominet, like .co.uk or .org.uk But these are in fact independently managed.

    Build own dropcatching software

You need to double check that code, I remember it had a non-standard epp implementation which Nominet's servers tolerate but is not ideal. It also used the DAC for domain checks which is no longer useful and ads unnecessary complexity. Everything can be done with epp nowadays. But it is a good...

    Wanted: Domain Discreet.co.uk and uk

That is the tag that first registered the domain: "events": [ { "eventAction": "registration", "eventActor": "TAGNAME", "eventDate": "2006-06-01T17:34:21Z" } ...it is not the current owner or registrar. See rdap.uk/?type=domain&object=Discreet.co.uk for a clearer display...

    Build own dropcatching software

It's worth clarifying that multiple tags mean multiple registrar tags under the same account/membership and not multiple accounts/memberships. See the AUP policy about linking multiple accounts. Tag and membership are often used interchangeably, sometimes even by Nominet staff.

Registrar put domains in "Registrar Investigation Lock"

Check the domains in rdap.uk If they don't have server transfer prohibited or client transfer prohibited status codes then you can use Nominet's transfer service and transfer them to a different registrar. It costs £10+vat for the entire batch of domains. If the domains have server transfer...

I don't really get the point of these automated posts... They add no value and just clutter the space, detracting from the important stuff. In a busy DL day, the New Threads section can be full of with these. Surely all users here know about DomainSalesHistory.uk

Not too shabby – £1,334 Are you no longer reporting sales to @seemly at all? I remember at one point you were saying only sales over a certain value are included in your feed to DomainSalesHistory.uk
