Anyone here going to this that fancies meeting up for a few drinks before hand let me know. I'll be flying in for this and I'll be around from mid-day.
Hopefully see some of you there!

I'm here, alive and kicking. Thanks for your concern @rob :) I do actually visit regularly, but rather as a guest as I watch certain threads and so therefore get email alerts. As people seem to be concerned about my personal welfare here, ill be sure to login from now on ;)
As for Helmut's...
@Helmuts I have never met you, but I feel you need to be more realistic in your pricing. You can become a leading sponsor at Namescon for around 20k and they have packages with booths etc. for around 10k and for as little as a couple of K. Namescon attracts circa 1k attendees and I certainly...
The industry will truly miss you Tommy. Absolute pleasure to know you and to have met you. Enjoy your retirement and as others have said, we are always a call or email away. If I am ever in Glasgow, I will for sure let you know!
And as far as proof of ID. Don’t know about you, but half of these world class dropcatchers. Don’t know anyone that’s either met or spoken to them in over 20 years in the industry.
I agree with you pedigree. If Nominet were to revoke those domains that were found to be unlawfully registered or at the very least suspend members for a significant period of time … there’s absolutely no deterrent at the moment. Moneys money to Nominet. Doesn’t matter to them who catches what.
Wether we use the old or new drop mechanism, whilst those that game the system go unpunished it’s immaterial what we think. Nominet need to act to show they are serious about restoring the memberships trust.
I want to see:
An exhaustive list of actions that can be taken against members when...
When a complaint is made I believe the person that is making that complaint should be updated on the progress of their complaint. I don't expect Nominet to provide every email or detailed back and forth with the accused for which the complaint is about, but a simple 'based upon your evidence...
Exactly this, this is the primary reason people continue to do what they do. Those found responsible should be named and shamed and the punishment should deter others.
I am sure many would be open to doing so, however 1st we need proof that Nominet is taking this seriously. With tight timings...
The problem was and is still is, Nominets inability or unwillingness to enforce their own rules. A new system doesn't change this. If collusion is suspected, they (Nominet) should investigate those that are proven to be in breach of T&C, suspend them for a period of time and publicly name them...
The roundtable was from the end of 2021 and my opinion hasn’t changed since then. I would have expected a similar roundtable before a final decision was made. Given UKRAC minutes are behind a login and more often than not have a summary of what has been discussed rather than the detail, I don’t...
